I love my food, there is no doubt about it. If you love yours too, then you HAVE to visit this market.
The ‘La Cigale French Style Farmers Market’ is a market in which the kiwi and french food and flavours collaborate. There is an abundance of fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as different foods for you to try. Although it is a french style market, it does have food from all around the world, including the best paella I have ever tried, from a Spanish stall, and amazingly fresh bomboloni (custard doughnut) originated from Italy.
It’s not the easiest place to find, it took us about a good half an hour to find it, walking from the city, but we were just going by directions we had been given by someone. I guess that makes it more special, that it doesn’t seem to be a big touristy thing of Auckland, and you realise you’ve found a hidden gem some people don’t even know exist! The food is not cheap, but it is worth it, especially as a one off occasion!
If you want to head there, find the information below my photos from the market.
