It feels so long ago since me and Connor first stepped foot in Australia, in late September. I can’t believe we’re almost 3 months into our year here!
So i’m going to give you a quick low down, on what we’ve done so far.
We’ve decided to base ourselves on the Gold Coast for now, whilst we can save up some money and decide what we want to do.
When we arrived we stayed with Connors auntie and uncle, who live on the Gold Coast, near Oxenford, along with their 16 year old twin daughters. With the cost of flights, and never ending lack of time, it’s hard for them to come back and visit Nelson, (Connors hometown) as it is for Connors family to go see them, so it was great all round to spend some family time together. They are so much fun to spend time with, you can always guarantee a laugh when you’re around them. I’ve been feeling pretty homesick lately, so being with them having that sense of family has helped me a lot. We stayed with them for about 7 weeks, and then moved on to other accommodation. We were going to relocate to Brisbane, however Connor ended up getting a job offer in Robina, so we decided to base ourselves there. We have since moved 3 times (yep, its been a bit hectic!) but we think we are finally in the right place.
I’ve had a few health issues lately so i’m not currently working, but I will be in the new year. For now, i’m focussing on getting my blog together.
Im hoping that we can head out to some of the local hinterland, and visit some waterfalls asap, so keep your eyes peeled for the next photos!
Here’s some photos of the trip so far:
